AGRICULTURAL ADVANCES (FARM SECTOR)
PIONEERED AND ACTIVLEY PARTICIPATING IN ALL GOVT. SPONSORED SCHEME FOR UPLIFTMENT OF ECONOMIC SYSTEM
1. KISAN CREDIT CARD (KCC)
The Andaman & Nicobar State Cooperative Bank has introduced “Krishi Card Scheme” during the year 1996, exclusively for the farmers of Union Territory for providing them instant credit. The same has been modified with the introduction of Kisan Credit Card Scheme by the Govt. of India in the year 1998 and the scheme is now known as “Kisan Credit Card” (KCC).
2. ADVANCES FOR SELF HELP GROUPS (SHGs)
The bank has been pioneer in promoting and linking Self Help Group. The bank has linked 3300 nos. saving linked Self Help Groups and 977 nos. credit linked Self Help Groups as on 31.12.2010.
 
VARIOUS GOVT. SPONSORED SCHEMES
1. Swarnajayanti Gram Swarojgar Yojna (SGSY)
The bank also provided financial assistance under SGSY to SHGs and individual beneficiaries in the form of revolving fund and project loan to the tune of Rs. 14.76 lakhs as on 31.03.2014. The A & N SCB disbursed credit facilities to 28 beneficiaries under the SGSY scheme during 2013-14.
2. General Purpose Credit Card (GCC)
2.2 The scheme covers general credit needs of bank constituents in the rural and semi-urban areas. The scheme is to provide hassle free credit to banks’ customers based on the assessment of Cash Flow without insistence on security, purpose of end-use of the credit. This is in the nature of overdraft or cash credit with no end-use stipulations. The total credit facility under GCC for an individual does not exceed Rs. 25,000. The Bank had issued loans under GCC to the tune of Rs. 23.85 lakhs upto 31.03.2014 to 96 beneficiaries.
3. Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP)
The Bank has disbursed credit facilities to the tune of Rs. 290.61 lakhs upto 31.03.2014. The Bank issued PMEGP Loans to 142 nos. of beneficiaries during 2013-14. The PMEGP scheme has been one of the key areas of the Bank in creating a wonderful opportunity to the unemployed youths of these Islands.
However, there are large numbers of NPA accounts and the bank had written to KVIB and requested to get the GGTMSE cover for our banks finance under PMEGP. The matter is being processed by the KVIB and the Ministry.
4. Swarojgar Credit Card (SCC)
SCC scheme aims at providing adequate and timely credit i.e. working capital or block capital or both to small artisans, service sector, fishermen, self-employed persons, other micro-entrepreneurs, Self Help Groups (SHGs), etc. from the banking system in a flexible, hassle free and cost effective manner. The normal limit under the scheme is Rs. 25,000 per borrower. The Bank provided credit assistance under Swarojgar Credit Card (SCC) to the extent of Rs. 20.90 lakhs to 84 beneficiaries during 2013-14.
SAFE LOCKER DEPOSIT FACILITY
This facility is not offered through all Bank branches and wherever the facility is offered, allotment of Safe Deposit vault will be subject to availability and compliance with other terms and conditions attached to the service. Safe Deposit Lockers may be hired by an individual (being not a minor) singly or jointly with another individual(s), HUFs, firms, limited companies, associates, societies, trusts, etc. Nomination facility is available to individual(s) holding the lockers singly or jointly. In respect of lockers held in joint names, up to two nominees can be appointed. Joint locker holders can give mandate for access to the lockers in the event of death of one of the holders on the lines similar to those for deposit accounts.
